If you're new here...

I have a habit of overthinking things.
Case in point: this blog.
I've been talking about starting one for longer than I'd like to admit. Every time I sat down to write, I'd convince myself no one would care, overthink it, and move on to something else.
Luckily for me, the amazing designer behind this website (Harvill House Marketing) saw the value in a blog long before I did. From the very beginning, she encouraged me to create a space that felt personal, somewhere I could share more than just flowers. She reminded me that people connect with stories just as much as they connect with beautiful photos.

So, hi. I'm Rose.
My partner, Rick, and I own Ice Moon Farms, a flower farm in Southeast Texas.
We spend our days growing flowers, dreaming up new ideas, solving problems we definitely didn't see coming, and trying to build something we're proud of. We also work full-time off the farm. Like most small businesses, we wear a lot of hats. We're the growers, harvesters, bouquet makers, photographers, market vendors, and the people checking the weather forecast probably more often than we should.

The flowers are what brought you here, but I have a feeling they won't be the only thing we talk about.
You'll definitely find flower updates, growing experiments, new products, and behind-the-scenes moments from the farm. But you'll also find some of our favorite things along the way: books we love, our favorite local businesses, products we genuinely use, and the people creating things that inspire us.
We love supporting small businesses because we know firsthand how much heart goes into building one. Every small business has a story, and we love sharing those stories whenever we can. Whether it's a local maker, a favorite coffee shop, an artist, a fellow farmer, or someone simply doing something really well, we believe there is always room to cheer each other on.
And then there's Charlie.

Charlie is our rescue pup and has quickly become a very important part of life at the farm Depending on the day, she's either our biggest helper or our biggest distraction. She's sweet, curious, a little chaotic, and has more personality than most people we know. So yes, she will probably make regular appearances around here.
My hope is that this doesn't feel like just another business blog.
I hope it feels like you're getting to know us.
This space will be a little bit of everything.
I don't have a perfectly curated plan for what this will become, and honestly, I think I like it better that way.
If you've found your way here through flowers, Charlie, a farmers market, social media, or simply curiosity, I'm so glad you're here.
Welcome to our little corner of the internet.
